Frequently Asked Questions
What is in-home pet euthanasia?
In-home euthanasia allows your pet to pass peacefully in a familiar, comfortable environment. A licensed veterinarian, Dr. Andrew Arriola, performs a gentle, painless procedure that prioritizes your pet’s comfort and dignity.
How do I know when it’s time to say goodbye?
This can be one of the hardest decisions a family makes. Common signs include chronic pain, loss of appetite, difficulty standing or walking, or a noticeable decline in quality of life. We’re here to help you evaluate your pet’s condition and discuss whether euthanasia may be the kindest option.
What can I expect during the appointment?
Dr. Andrew Arriola will explain each step of the process and begin by administering a mild sedative to help your pet relax. Once your pet is resting comfortably, the final injection is given. You’ll have as much time as you need before, during, and after the visit.
How long does an appointment take?
Most appointments last 45–60 minutes. This allows time for introductions, gentle sedation, the peaceful transition, and private moments afterward. If you need more time, appointments can extend for up to two hours to ensure you never feel rushed.
What happens after my pet passes?
We handle your pet’s aftercare with the utmost respect. You may choose from individual or communal cremation. If you select an individual cremation, your pet’s ashes will be returned in a memorial urn of your choice.
Can I keep a keepsake or memorial item?
Yes. Many families choose a clay paw print or one of our custom pet portraits as a lasting tribute.
Do you offer grief support resources?
We offer links to support groups, online resources, and reading materials to help you and your family navigate the grieving process at your own pace. In addition, our team will gently guide you through the process and offer compassionate advice, helping you understand what to expect and ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.
How should I prepare for the visit?
Choose a quiet, comfortable space where your pet feels most at ease, often a favorite bed or blanket. Loved ones can gather if they wish. We’ll walk you through every step to ensure a peaceful experience.
What areas do you serve?
We currently serve families throughout the South Bay and surrounding areas. If you’re just outside this area, please reach out, we may still be able to assist or refer you to a trusted partner.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled online or by phone. We understand the urgency and do our best to offer same-day or next-day availability whenever possible.
